Did anyone have a CD audio player back in the day that featured CD+G video output?
I got my first CD player in 1985, a Pioneer PD-5010 which had CD+G output, but I never had the cable and didn't have the tech sense to search for it beyond just the local Circuit City.
I never saw the visuals.

Assumed this was a spade terminal to earth and broke it off the power transformer. I think this is a ring lug thermistor? I get 120ohm across the two wires at room temp. Any idea what the nominal value might be? The markings E2 75, maybe 7.5kOhm?
Amp goes into protection mode without it so I've put a 2kOhm resistor in its place which lets it power on but the speakers are very quiet now. Could it be winding back the power in response to temperature? #hifi #electronics
Isn’t it funny how we grew up with stereos—left and right channels, all that—only to end up in a world where most people opt for a single stylish, wireless mono speaker? I’m not saying modern portable speakers don’t sound great—they do. But it’s curious how the masses just stopped caring about stereo sound? #hifi #music

Of all the various CD variations (Blu spec CD ,XRCD,HDCD, SACD etc) this one clearly passed me by... LPCD.

Yes, but only 3 frequencies, notice.
The #audiophiles ones do 4 frequencies. This is the quality difference, and no doubt registered design, that you pay the extra dosh for.
You definitely want speakers that do 4 whole frequencies; otherwise what is the point? (-:

Folks here seem to appreciate my furniture projects. Here's an oak stereo cabinet that I bartered for manual therapy in Venice, CA a few years back. I fell instantly and madly in love with it, and conspired with a friend to build matching cabinets to hold additional records (never happened).
It ultimately didn't work so well for me, since (a) I got a receiver that is too big for the compartment, and (b) I also listen to tapes and CDs, which means piling additional equipment on top of the pretty cabinet, or putting extra gear on a nearby shelf and running cables over — both somewhat tacky and purpose-defeating solutions. For a vinyl-centric setup, this would be a dream.
I'm trying to sell this before I move away. Folks local to the Bay Area, holler if you want dimensions or more info. (More pics in the thread)

Harrastuksia löytyy paljon, ja ehkä se onkin tätä nykyä se pääsyy, miksi haluan olla somessa - jotta löytäisin harrastuksiini liittyviä samanhenkisiä ihmisiä.
Olen varmaan jonkinlainen salirotta, mutta tykkään myös monenlaisesta aerobisesta liikunnasta. Juoksu, uinti ja pyöräily on tämän hetken valinnat.
Lisäksi olen harrastanut toista vuotta Yang-tyylin taijia. Reilu kymmenen vuotta sitten harrastin myös pari vuotta Wudang-tyylisuunnan "käytännöllisempää" taijia, ja olisinkin sitä halunnut jatkaa, mutta paikallisesti täällä ei ollut sille opetusta. Todella hieno laji, jonka oppiminen on vasta alussa ja kestää varmasti koko loppuelämän.
Olen elänyt yli puolet elämästäni selkävaivaisena. Sekä täällä, että muilla somealustoilla olen pitänyt lukua #selkämies-tunnisteella aina kun aiheen puolesta on ollut jotain sanottavaa. Viimeisimpien, pari vuotta sitten sattuneiden pitkien kipuepisodien myötä päätin muuttaa kurssia elämässäni ja yksi tärkeimmistä tehtävistä tuon päätöksen jälkeen on ollut saada kipu pois. Olen jo melko hyvin onnistunut ja saanut sitä vähennettyä, tuloksena painonmuutos -15kg ja aimo annos terveyttä, voimantuottoa ja suorituskykyä on tullut tilalle. Aion jatkaa tällä tiellä ja tavoitteenani on parin vuoden päästä, 40 vuotta täytettyäni, olla elämäni parhaassa kunnossa - toivottavasti ilman kipua kaverinani.
#pelaaminen eri muodoissaan on ollut mukana 4-vuotiaasta lähtien, eikä vauhti ole vuosien varrella hiljentynyt. Videopelit, lautapelit, pöytäroolipelit, korttipelit.. pelit ku pelit!
Poden tällä hetkellä myös vakavanpuoleista lukuintoa.

Can someone explain me like I'm 5, why does music from an uncompressed source sent as AAC via Bluetooth sound less "wide" than same music decoded directly to analog signal and listened via cable?
I understand that the former loses some info but isn't it frequencies we can't actively hear anyways?
Why may compression narrow the stereo stage?
