Since the early days of film, there've been stunt designers and performers who make leaping through glass windows, flipping cars and escaping from burning buildings look realistic. Now, they have the chance to get an Oscar for it. Thanks to the campaigning of former stunt performer and "The Fall Guy" director David Leitch, the Academy Board of Governors approved a new category for stunt design, which will start in 2027. Here's more from @Variety. Tell us in the comments the most impressive or memorable movie or TV stunt you can think of.

Top Oscar Winners at the 2025 Academy Awards

The 97th Academy Awards ceremony was a big night for "Anora," which dominated the 2025 Oscars with five major wins. Here's a breakdown of the top winners:

"Anora" - The Big Winner
- Best Picture
- Best Director (Sean Baker)
- Best Actress (Mikey Madison)
- Best Original Screenplay (Sean Baker)
- Best Film Editing (Sean Baker)

Sean Baker made Oscar history by winning four Academy Awards in a single night for the same film, tying Walt Disney's record for most Oscars won by an individual in one ceremony. Unlike Disney, who won for four different projects in 1954, Baker's achievement came from his work as director, editor, writer, and co-producer of "Anora."

Other Major Winners
- Best Actor: Adrian Brody for "The Brutalist" (his second Oscar win)
- Best Supporting Actor: Kieran Culkin for "A Real Pain"
- Best Supporting Actress: Zoe Saldaña for "Emilia Pérez" (becoming the first American of Dominican descent to win an Oscar)
- Best International Feature: "I'm Still Here" (Brazil)
- Best Animated Feature: "Flow"

Notable Film Achievements
- "The Brutalist" also won for Best Cinematography and Best Original Score
- "Dune: Part Two" took home awards for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound
- "Wicked" won for Best Production Design and Best Costume Design
- "Emilia Pérez" won for Best Original Song ("El Mal") alongside Saldaña's acting win

The ceremony was hosted by Conan O'Brien, marking his first time hosting the Academy Awards after previously hosting the Emmys twice.

My friends just won the Oscar for Best Documentary! This is an excerpt from co-director Basel Adra's acceptance speech:

"About two months ago, I became a father, and my hope to my daughter is that she will not have to live the same life I am living now, always fearing violence, home demolitions, forced displacement that my community, Masafer Yatta, is facing every day."

Adrien Brody wins his second best actor Oscar for "The Brutalist," 22 years after he won for "The Pianist." Here's his conversation with @Variety about the movie, and how he isn't a typical leading man. “I’ve had to prove that the leading man can be unusual and unique and not typically handsome,” he explains. “But oftentimes, somewhat nondescript-looking choices are easier. Safer.”
