@mhoye Imagine surviving millions of years in the frozen earth as all around you other fossils were subducted and twisted beyond recognition only to have some monkey crack open your rock and call you a “primordial meatloaf”!

Dave Rudkin and colleagues found the biggest chonkin' trilobite ever, and they named her Isotelus rex. Nobody uttered the phrase "primordial meatloaf" even once.
can't think about that fossil, and where it was found, on the shores of the Hudson Bay, without thinking about how much the Hudson bay sea ice situation has changed in recent years ...
