Everyone is a little bit powerful. How are you powerful? It's worth thinking about what impacts you can martial, what aid you can give.
Can you lock everyone out of the building for a day?
Can you procure thousands of dollars in medical supplies?
Can you lighten the mood when someone starts talking like we are about to go to war?
It's time to do inventory.
Hopefully for no reason at all.
@futurebird I can't do any of these things.
IDK you do an awful lot IMO.
But this isn't about having the best inventory, just thinking about it.
Frankly I feel very limited. Mostly because I've gone to so much trouble to isolate myself from systems I find pernicious. And so I have little influence on such systems.
@futurebird
no, I just read a lot, and much of what I read, I read it multiple times, so I can remember some of it. That's it.
(In the past I did more; I did some pottery, some programming, some tutoring, washed pots and pans in a cafeteria, some tutoring (mainly math and computer programming) and random odd jobs, but most of those things, I've not done for so long I've forgotton most of what I needed to know. )
@futurebird @llewelly
I’ve been thinking about whether it would be prudent to buy/keep and store away a few books that might get banned or just become mysteriously unavailable, etc. Sort of a Fahrenheit 451 model except I’m not great at memorizing.
@llewelly @futurebird that’s a lot, yo
@futurebird you have a voice* and I think a robust readership.
