"Most modern cars have some kind of internet connection, but Tesla goes much further. By design, its cars receive "over-the-air" updates, including updates that are adverse to drivers' interests. For example, if you stop paying the monthly subscription fee that entitles you to use your battery's whole charge, Tesla will send a wireless internet command to your car to restrict your driving to only half of your battery's charge.
This means that your Tesla is designed to follow instructions that you don't want it to follow, and, by design, those instructions can fundamentally alter your car's operating characteristics. For example, if you miss a payment on your Tesla, it can lock its doors and immobilize itself, then, when the repo man arrives, it will honk its horn, flash its lights, back out of its parking spot, and unlock itself so that it can be driven away:

Something I didn't quite understand was the whole "throw slices of cheese onto Teslas" thing. I mean, sure, it will do some damage to the finish of a car, particularly one like the #Cybercuck, but cured meats like bologna, salami and the like have even more capacity to damage (and more quickly).
Especially as we go into the hotter, sunnier months with ever-earlier sunrises, plastering Teslas with sliced food products becomes a better strategy. It's especially useful if done in the wee hours of the morning before sunup. That food product could be sitting on a #Tesla for a few, sunny hours before its owner comes out to drive it to work.

So, a Tesla odometer can have its mileage modified by Tesla to expire the warranty, and they are being sued for it.
This got me thinking...In the #trump and #musk, #techbro America, I guess an easy way out is to adjust #Google maps to change the distance from any disputed journey to match the tesla reading. Problem solved.
Why stop there. You could have electronic sign posts that can adjust distances to match tesla battery capacity in colder weather conditions.
You could increase battery range by updating the maps 
They are going after NIST, as these "standards" are expensive
