Friendly reminder that there *are* talking ants in the Bible** so don't @ me, Christians.
EDIT
**For large values of "in the"
@futurebird I didn't know that. Which part?
The Queen Ant talks to King Solomon in Proverbs, but now I'm remembering that this is a story in the Jewish texts, but not in the Bible. Dang it.
@futurebird
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise

@mansr
Has the ant a froward mien? No indeed!
The wise ant shuns frowardness.
@futurebird I see now that you've even got it in your profile.
@futurebird @mansr #Proverbs 6:7 starts an excellant rumination on ants, but I can't find the bit where they chat back. And the Proverbs of Solomon are one of the Jewish texts in the Christian Bible, accepted by all churches. Are you thinking of the #Wisdom of Solomon, which some protestants reject?
Somewhat relatedly, everyone should read #Kipling's "The Butterfly That Stamped", one of the Just So Stories.
@futurebird@sauropods.win this is the part of the bible we should all be taking inspiration from
The entire Bible was in fact dictated by ants. Most people don't know this.
@Phosphenes @futurebird that might make it more believeable
@futurebird The talking ants in my Bible are always trying to start theological debates when I’m trying to sleep. They’re all hardcore Calvinists. Ugh.
