@dinogami@sauropods.winInterlibrary loan is truly a wonderful thing, especially for (but not limited to) obtaining obscure papers from rare journals. And skilled interlibrary loan librarians deserve WAY more respect than I think they get! If you're at an institution and use interlibrary loan often, please express your gratitude to the folks that work in that department. (I have been known to ply mine with occasional plates of cookies.)
I could not agree more. I couldn't have done my research without ILL and thanked the office in the acknowledgments.

@dinogami I requested a book today this au for the first time in years. I went to the library in person and the librarian was great.

@zuzu_chov I honestly can't think of a single research project, past or present, for which I did NOT use ILL! I honestly think it may be the single most critical function of a library for me...not to downplay everything else libraries and librarians do, but I use ILL more than any other service by a substantial margin!
@dinogami I gave mine doughnuts. 
They not only helped me find obscure books, but also helped in so many other ways, even with the Aurora and Eclipse events this year.

@dinogami I have been a librarian for 15 years and I firmly believe that interlibrary loan is one of the purest expressions of what a library stands for and the librarians who fulfill requests are miracle workers.
